Jim currently lives in the panhandle of western Nebraska with his wife, PJ, where they both continue to enjoy the beauty of the landscape and wildlife around them. |
"I try to portray the world around me in a fresh and original way. I seek to create exciting and unique visual statements that express my feelings of a scene. Through the use of established principles of painting, ie, composition, drawing, color, and texture, I try to make my own personal statements on the world that I see. My ultimate goal is to leave the viewer with a bit of the inspiration that I felt in the creation of the painting." |
A native of Nebraska, artist Jim Whartman has lived his life on the high plains of the western US. Jim's early childhood drawings and a fascination for the outdoors eventually grew into today's award-winning paintings. |
